Featured Dogs... _________________________ Meet Kodiak!
Kodi is a 7 year old spayed female from the Tang/Grizz breeding. She has been a wonderful, dearly loved pet, and her family will deeply miss her. But due to their recent divorce neither owner is in the position to keep Kodi, and we've been contacted to help find a worthy home for this great dog. She is healthy, good with children, with cats and other dogs in the home, will come and sit when called, and is described as the "best dog I have ever owned" by her current human dad. She has shown occasional "protective instincts" in approaching other dogs while on leash. This has been in the form of raising the hair on her back and barking. Her adopter should be dog savvy so as to redirect her attention should this situation arise. Kodi is located in Bowie, Maryland. If you think you can offer a great home to Kodiak, please complete our online Adoption Application, specifying "Kodiak" in the "Specific Dog" dialogue box. Thank you for your interest. _________________________ If you know of a Shiloh Shepherd in need of a New Home or Rescue... _________________________ "We need to step up, all of us, and take part in the Shiloh Rehome Program, for if we don't take care of our own, we shouldn't be doing this at all." _________________________ THANK YOU! |

Shiloh Rehome Program: The ISSDC believes all dogs deserve a rewarding and loving home, but our rehome/rescue efforts must be specifically devoted to helping proven Shiloh Shepherds in need. We rely on our network of breeders, members and volunteers to help rescue, foster, and rehome Shiloh Shepherds whenever a situation arises. From time to time we may have Shiloh Shepherds listed on our site available for adoption from rescue situations, so please do check back regularly. There are several rescue organizations devoted to helping Shiloh Shepherds, coated German Shepherds and other "Shiloh type" dogs, that are doing good work. The ISSDC is appreciative of such organizations but is not affiliated with them, as again, we must focus our efforts on what we believe to be pedigreed Shiloh Shepherds. There can be striking similarities between Shiloh's and certain long-haired German Shepherd dogs. Therefore the ISSDC does not warrant that any particular dog from a rescue organization is a true Shiloh Shepherd unless there is parental proof, common knowledge, or some sort of paperwork to support this claim. If you choose to bring one of these rescue dogs into your home without proof of pedigree, you should realize they may or may not be Shiloh Shepherds even if they have been represented as such. Online Adoption Application: We occasionally have Shiloh's in need of new homes. They can come from rescue situations or unanticipated lifestyle changes of their previous owners. If you are considering adopting a Rehome/Rescue dog, please complete the application form. We will keep it on file and contact you when an appropriate dog is available. Donations Welcome: We hope that our new "Donations" button will become "popular". For the sake of our breed, and out of the goodness of your heart, we hope that our people directly involved in rescuing and caring for less fortunate Shiloh Shepherds will be compensated for their base expenses. We have two options for "donations"; our "donate online" button will take you directly to PayPal for your contribution, and our "donate reg mail" will take you to a PDF voucher for you to easily mail to our treasurer (address is on the voucher). Volunteers
Welcome: We are in need of Volunteers across the USA and Canada who are willing to to assist our Rehome/Rescue Program. We need people who are interested in fostering, arranging transport, potential home assessment, and much more. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete our Volunteer Application where you can describe how you would best be able to help us. Thank you! Know of a Shiloh in Need? Should you hear of or know of any Shiloh Shepherd in need of rescue, please CONTACT US immediately! Available Shiloh's: Periodically we will feature Shiloh's here on our Rescue/Rehome pages. In the meantime, please check out available Shiloh's at the following links:
